The following paintings were inspired by my fascination with the Big
Little books of the 1930's and 40's. Those mystery novels were enhanced with occasional full
page illustrations throughout, and each image was accompanied with a
short text lifted from the story.
I hope you enjoy my visions of an imaginary drama. An original short
text has
been hand lettered in paint near the bottom of each piece. The 3/4"
letters may be barely visible in the computer images, but if you look
